A huge congratulations to the TY Concern Debating Team on their wins against Mount Carmel Secondary School (3 November 2015) and Maryfield College, Drumcondra (11 November 2015), a bye against Portmarnock Community School (11 January) and a draw against St Kevin's College, Glasnevin (25 January). The team is coached by Ms S Conerney and Ms K Flynn.
Concern Debates
The team members are Megan Brady, Emma Ormonde, Sarah Tierney and Nancy Wang (all in Transition Year).
We drew against St Kevin's College, Glasnevin on 25 January. The debate took place in St Kevin's with the Manor House girls opposing the motion that 'The SDGs are doomed from the start'.
The Concern debate which was due to take place in Manor House, on 12 January 2016, against Portmarnock Community School, has been cancelled. The girls were proposing the motion, 'HIV and AIDS will be eradicated in our lifetime'.
In-House Debate
There is an in-house Christmas debate on Friday 11 December at 2:30pm between first and second year students. The motion is 'This house believes that Santa Claus should be banned'.
