The SMILE Committee organised events on Friday 9 February, with the help of the Student Council  to remind students that 'It's ok not to feel ok and it's absolutely ok to ask for help'. Here are some of the activities we enjoyed on Friday.

  • Students and Staff embraced this year's  theme of the 'Cycle Against Suicide' movement which is 'Empower Your Voice'. Please check out the theme song, written by Catherine Grogan, on our website.
  • We attended a performance by our SMILE choir on Friday afternoon,as well as listening to our resident DJ, Senor Biggane.
  • Students broke a whole-school 'worry chain' at one moment during the afternoon to symbolise that our worries may be lessened if we speak out and if we share our worries with others.
  • A walk in St Anne's Park to close off the day reminded us that we all have people around us who will help us if we need it.
