The Manor House Scifest 2018 exhibition took place on 15 May in the PE Hall. The exhibition had 37 projects! Well done to all the 1st years and their six teachers, Ms A Dolan, Ms F Dolan, Ms G Fagan, Mr L Gahan, Ms Catherine Power and Ms A Tracey. All the students and teachers in the school, along with Ms O’Neill, Ms Dunwoody and Ms Fields, visited the exhibition. We were delighted so many parents and family members were able to join us, as well, in the afternoon for the presentation. Many thanks to the six judges, including Ms Catherine Power, Ms Jill Macklin and Anne Lynch from Scifest. The standard was extremely high because every group put in a huge effort. The judges found it very difficult to pick an overall winner. All participants were presented with certificates and ten projects received medals of distinction. The runners up were Caroline Kavanagh, Maeve O’Connor and Grainne Keating, for their project entitled 'Bubbleology'. The overall winning project, deemed to be 'outstanding' by the judges, was “Where can bacteria be found on a daily basis?” Congratulations to Victoria Leder and Alison Grealy. Here's a video that captures some of the atmosphere of the event.
